It’s hard to believe that it’s been thirteen years since Via Salzburg first set out to bring a new and exciting voice to the classical music scene in Toronto.

Many things have changed over the years, but it is those things that have remained the same of which we are most proud. We are devoted to showcasing and furthering Canadian talent, both performers and composers, in our concerts. We continue to mix the performed and loved music of the great European past with the fresh and vibrant music of our contemporary society - we are thrilled to know that we can present today what people will be talking about tomorrow. most of all, we are proud to have the loyalty and devotion of our audience. It is a privilege to perform for you, get to know you, and consider you part of our musical family.

Thank you for joining us for our fourteenth concert season. We look forward, once again, to meeting friends both old and new.

For the past thirteen years, Via Salzburg has brought you the very best in chamber music performance, from the intimacy of the string quartet to the lush sounds of a chamber orchestra. We have stretched the boundaries of what it is that constitutes a traditional concert, and we have brought to our stage a rich and diverse selection of music and musicians from many different genres and disciplines. We are very proud of our mission, and we are even more grateful for your unflagging support.

As with everything, Via Salzburg changes over time. As artists, change is in our very lifeblood, and we are excited to begin the next stage in our musical journey with you. With our thirteenth season, Via Salzburg returns to the very heart of the chamber music experience by embracing the intimacy of the string quartet as our core ensemble. Over the course of our coming season, we will celebrate our young musicians and delve even more deeply into the music that means so much to us. We will continue to bring you innovative concerts, special guest artists, and a healthy dose of excellent music from both Canada and around the world as we infuse the familiar with the new and move both the ensemble and our audience into exciting and sometimes challenging musical waters.

Our new venue, Rosedale United Church, promises to enrich the Via Salzburg experience for all of us. Churches have been havens for the beauty of music for many hundreds of years, and we feel that returning to that venue for our concerts will allow us both to showcase the music in a very special way and to connect even more closely with you, our loyal and growing audience.

Please join Via Salzburg for our new season as we build upon our own traditions and innovations and grow into a new and even more exciting ensemble. We look forward to seeing all our friends, both old and new, very soon.
